In The Balcony: Tyler Perry’s “Good Deeds”

By Jueseppi B.

Tyler Perry‘s new movie Good Deeds is set for release on February 24th 2012.

A successful, wealthy businessman, Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry) has always done what’s expected of him, whether it’s assuming the helm of his father’s company, tolerating his brother’s misbehavior at the office or planning to marry his beautiful but restless fiancée, Natalie (Gabrielle Union). But Wesley is jolted out of his predictable routine when he meets Lindsey (Thandie Newton), a down-on-her-luck single mother who works on the cleaning crew in his office building.

When he offers to help her get back on her feet, the chance encounter with someone so far outside his usual circle ignites something in Wesley. This one good deed may finally spark his courage to exchange the life that’s expected of him for the life he’s always really wanted.

A moving, uplifting drama about coincidence, courage, and the defining choices we make on our paths to happiness, TYLER PERRY’S GOOD DEEDS is written, produced and directed by Tyler Perry, and stars Perry, Thandie Newton, Brian White, Rebecca Romijn, Jamie Kennedy, Eddie Cibrian, Jordenn Thompson, Beverly Johnson, with Phylicia Rashad, and Gabrielle Union.

  1. Oh this sounds exciting and very much in my interest …I don’t just go to movies, they have to be of interest. Glad I stopped by this one…I hadn’t even heard about it. Thanks for the details…I will see this one for sure:) I’m excited! You just do a little of everything don’t you Mr Baker! I like that no limits!!

  2. I saw him on The View this morning. Tyler’s doing his thing. He’s about to get his own TV network. I don’t always like his work and I know he’s heavily criticized but overall, I like Tyler as a person, without knowing him personally. What I know he’s done for some people and his work ethic makes me see the total person that he is. As long as he’s doing what he’s doing now, I’ll support him. He’s a businessman with a lot of heart.

    • Mr. Perry was at one point in his life homeless…and he does much work for the disadvantaged. His work appeals the most to those of us who know of what he writes about. I grew up around aunts and cousins exactly like the women he write into his work, strong Black women who take no bull shit. He is a true role model.
