President Obama Host 2012 White House Tribal Nations Conference

President Barack Obama on Dec. 5 will host a White House Tribal Nations Conference at the Department of the Interior. The conference will provide leaders from the 566 federally recognized tribes the opportunity to interact directly with the president and representatives from his administration. Each federally recognized tribe will be invited to send one representative to the conference. This will be the fourth White House Tribal Nations Conference for the Obama administration.

On December 5, 2012, President Obama will host representatives invited from each of the 566 federally recognized American Indian tribes, and Alaska Native Villages, at the 2012 White House Tribal Nations Conference.  Fulfilling a commitment to improve and expand dialog with Indian Country, the President has hosted a Tribal Nations Conference in each year of his Presidency to facilitate a lasting discussion between Tribal Leaders and Senior Administration Officials.  The opening and closing sessions of the Conference will be available for live online viewing at and also  The expected agenda is as follows:


Opening Session, 9:00am – 10:30am EST
Secretary Ken Salazar, Department of the Interior
Secretary Arne Duncan, Department of Education
Deputy Secretary Neal Wolin, Department of the Treasury
Acting Secretary Rebecca Blank, Department of Commerce
Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Department of Health and Human Services
Secretary Tom Vilsack, Department of Agriculture



Closing Session, 1:30pm – 3:30pm EST
Leaders of Each Tribal Leaders Breakout Session
Secretary Ray LaHood, Department of Transportation
Secretary Hilda Solis, Department of Labor

The White House Tribal Nations Conference is the cornerstone of the Administration’s outreach and engagement with tribal governments and the dialogue and lessons learned will help shape federal policy in the weeks, months and years to come. We would like to sincerely thank all tribal leaders who will be taking part in the White House Tribal Nations Conference and we look forward to our continued collaboration and dialogue.

  1. Lift Every Voice and Sing! Mr President truly is one to be proud of. He lifts the Voices of All People here and around the world. He has given back a higher stronger dignity and respect to our country and how we are viewed and thought of. We are growing in leaps and bounds on a Forward path now. He is leading our Nation in the way that all will “want” to follow us and join with us because we are spearheading towards “whats right” and whats better” for all mankind now and in generations to come. Thank God for all who worked to lend even one breath or one hand to get our POTUS re-elected.

    I know deep down in my soul, this President’s second term is is going to be one of the most Important and Great American Stories of our time. We are living World History in the making America! Through him many nations will break and reach new milestones for sure. You know there is always a “1st” in everything and this man I believe has many “1st” still in the making!

    Thank you Mr Hack, inspirational and much needed the way you do what you do sir. I continue to raise “Hats Off” to you and that unique and illuminating way you touch the lives of so many. It is a thrilling ride to be apart of seeing you and your blogging growing by leaps and bounds daily since we’ve met (wow). Don’t ever stop doing “You” Mr Hack, because Nobody, does You better!


  2. It is the most right action to vote for the President not only does he represent most of us ;he is the best we have. Because he is the most progressive wise human being; we all will be successful and blessed .Regardless; of the struggles of the present ,the future generation will also be proud of our stories.
