Call Your Senators And Representatives Today About Gun Control Laws

By Jueseppi B.

To ALL Gun Owners:

Thank you for promising to take action for meaningful gun laws in 2013. As a gun owner, your voice will be especially powerful.

On Meet The Press last Sunday, President Obama said, “We’re not going to get this done unless the American people decide it’s important…without public opinion there is very little you can get done in this town.”

Today is the first full day of the new Congress — the perfect first day to express your opinion on the gun issue.

Can you call your Senators and Representative and tell them you are a gun owner who wants an assault weapons ban? Click here to call.

There’s one more important action you can take as a gun owner today.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.

      • They didn’t want to include gay couples and native american women.

No, I am not making that up. Oh, and it would have covered illegal immigrants too. They should all be beaten to death, dontchathink?

      • Ok, I remember that now. I think every member of both Houses of Congress should all be fired, every last member of both chambers. Then the House Of Douches should be abolished, then special election should be held to elect all first time Senators to a 8 year term limit job as a United States Senator. Pay equal to job performance reviews every 6 months.

        Starting pay is minimum wage.

I bet you my life, minimum wage would rise. Job performance would skyrocket. Common sense, logic & critical thinking would rule the day. 😉

      • We have very different points of view on this. Your suggestions would involve a whole lot of tinkering with the Constitution, and that will never happen.

The real sollution, I think, is mandatory Civics. Teach kids from kindergarten on up why paying attention to who they vote for matters. That doesn’t happen at all. I will (hopefully) be doing a post on it.

      • If there ever was an antiquated document that antiquated document is the United States Constitution.
The Constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787, by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and ratified by conventions in eleven states. It went into effect on March 4, 1789.

Thats 1789. Now what do you know of used in 1789, that is still used today that does not get updated?

Common sense says anything as out of date as the U.S. Constitution, needs a rewrite badly. I don’t cling to anything over 250 years old written by caucasian men wearing wigs and hose.

      • But it has stood us (well, we white folks, anyway) in good stead for all that time.

It is a great document, as it is a living document. We just need to interpret it properly. That’s part of the problem.

I try to set my sights on attainable goals. No windmills for me. Besides, I think the House is a fascinating institution. Truly wonderful to watch in action (well it used to be before the Tea baggers.)

      • I’m not a white folk, so it means jack to me. Lets drop this because we will never see eye to eye. I’m not caucasian and I don’t benefit from your view.😉 Enjoy your weekend.

      • I read this and have a question, in your piece, was the cause of your swollen lips and face spousal abuse?

      • No. It was Milky-Way Induced. I think that many issues that people don’t want to think about need to be addressed from a different angle. “I would never be abused, but I might not know what to do to help someone who was abused.”

This is a true story. Seriously.
