GOOD BLACK NEWS

Jenkins also won with co-writer Tarell Alvin McCraney for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Mahershala Ali became the first Muslim actor in Oscar history to win the Best Supporting Actor Award.

The star-studded evening also saw an energizing opening performance of “Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Original Song nominee Justin Timberlake, a medley of two songs from “La La Land” by its co-star John Legend (“City of Stars” went on to win the Original Song award) and a standing ovation for Best Feature Documentary presenter, Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree and NASA…

  1. Have you watched this one yet? My latest movies are Girl on a Train which I liked, Muana, which I loved, Fences which I loved, and Passengers which I hated! Moonlight is next on my list

    • I have been watching Hulu series, Blindspot, Fargo, Sleepy Hollow, Catch, Eli Stone and Life, also APB. I watch Rosewood & Lucifer when they are not on hiatus, which seems to be all the time. I will search for the titles you mentioned.

      • You mean Eli Stone was canceled? Now that makes me pissed. I hate when a show is canceled with no resolution to the characters, for instance did Eli ever get married to Maggie. Thats why I dislike TV. What is this Rectify?

      • YES Eli stone got canceled here. Maybe now where you are. I haven’t watched the last episodes yet. I heard it got canceled.
Rectify I am watching on netflix about a man who was wrongfully(presumable but not totally confirmed) incarcerated for 20 years and how his life is after he gets out. The character is just so well acted I can’t stop watching it.

      • I watched the 2 seasons available on Hulu, of Eli Stone. I started watching Rectify, now that I see the description, and stopped because of the way the lead character was treated. It turned me off from the start. I’m kinda picky like that.

      • It was a hard first season but then as I got into it I really got into his redemption. But totally understand how it is a turn off.
There are ONLY 2 seasons!!! Of eli stone!!!so once i watch the last few that is IT. I just looked it up and they didn’t make any more. Unbelievable. No answers, that sucks.

      • Thats why I didn’t watch TV shows until I got rid of my TV and cable. I only watched some sports and news and documentaries. Now I get news from the internet and sports from subscription channels. I watch other things for entertainment on Netflix & Hulu. I don’t like most writing for TV shows, it all seems stupid to me, as if writers write for 4th grade audiences.
