Second Onset Of Winter

SECOND ONSET OF WINTER

20170419_072910.jpg

Yesterday was the second day when winter showed us that it was not willing to let spring reign. I woke up to a completely white world (as you can see on the picture above – usually this tree stands completely upright) and it was snowing all day and sometimes even worse than in winter itself. We were lucky over here since the roads were in good conditions. But there was chaos only a few kilometers west of us on the streets and highways in Switzerland. I was almost alone at work because people could not even get out of their garages and it was too dangerous to drive with summer wheels – which meanwhile each car has at this time of the year. It is nature, so what? And it basically doesn’t influence my mood but it resulted in some damages.

These are some of my poor tulips.20170429_093239.jpg

The leaves on these two trees have already been frostbitten from the last snow 10 days ago bur yesterday gave them the rest.20170429_093406.jpg

It is nature, what can we do? But what broke my heart a bit was the broken branch of my willow. It wasn’t strong enough to resist the heavy wet snow. I got this tree when it was about 50 cm tall (about 20 inches) 16 years ago and see what it has become! What makes it special is that I received it from my deceased father and that way it is kind of a holy tree for me. 20170429_093335.jpg20170429_093315.jpg

As you can see the sun is shining again and I hope that this was the last snow until the end of the year!

Happy Weekend!

In Love and Light
