Trump Appoints Sheriff Clarke To Homeland Security

From Dennis Michael Lynch.Com:

JUST IN: Trump gives Sheriff Clarke a position on his team.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, a.k.a. “America’s favorite sheriff,” announced during a radio interview on Wednesday that he’s been appointed by Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly to serve as the agency’s assistant secretary for partnership and engagement.

Famous for his tough-as-nails demeanor, the conservative firebrand said, “I’m both honored and humbled to be appointed to this position by [DHS Sec. John Kelly], working for the Trump administration in this position.”

A loyal Trump supporter who stood by the president throughout his campaign, Clarke’s forthright, tell-it-like-it-is personality has branded him one of Wisconsin’s most controversial political figures. For instance, he’s been known to call out Black Lives Matters protesters, telling them to “stop trying to fix the police, fix the ghetto” and compared Ferguson demonstrators to “vultures on a roadside carcass.”

Clarke is reportedly under investigation by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in connection with the death of a mentally ill inmate who suffered from dehydration at the Milwaukee County Jail after being refused water for seven days, but no criminal charges have been filed against him.

Clarke will replace DHS acting assistant secretary John Barsa in June.
