When PTSD Sneaks In Your Window


I’m sitting here in my living room, trying to write. My AC is out I have this little stand alone unit going keeping me cool. When suddenly the window panel that’s keeping the hot air from coming in the opening, because it pulls the outside air in, COMES CRASHING DOWN. It really wasn’t that dramatic but for someone with ptsd it is. It was loud and quick. It startled me to my core. I felt a rush of adrenaline as I jumped off the couch, not sure what I was gonna do. My mind immediately thought someone is trying to come in the window. The window in sitting in front of! I find myself here crying in the couch. With chills in the back of my neck.
