Go Dog Go Café

Out here the world isn’t so close.

The road is not a far way off,

Sounds of cars passing by still permeates through hissing grass.

But the sky, you can escape into its wide open arms,

Out here where the world isn’t so close.

I come here to remember, but also to forget.

The stresses of the day,

The blood upon my hands,

The balance of life and death that is mine three times a week.

All is buried in this nature around me,

Out here where the world isn’t so close.

Remember what makes you, you, I say out loud.

You are alive, feel your heart beat?

The air fill your lungs?

That sunshine warming your skin?

Each foot planted firmly on the ground.

Remember who you are,

Out here the world isn’t so close.
