Insane – Not Crazy

The cell door closed

I’ve got to do my time

I claimed that I was crazy

The jury disagreed and said –

“You definitely did the crime”

I hear bad voices speaking -

Inside of my head

At least that’s what I told them

But they said that I am sane

And now I’m here in prison

Being psychiatrically observed

If they believe I’m sane

Then the meetings are absurd

The problem is that in my defence

I blamed my crazy dreams

So now my release depends

On convincing them I’m sane

And therein lies the problem

How do I convince them

The people I decieved

In order to fulfil my dream

Convince them I’m not crazy

My freedom to achieve
