Excruciating Exams (The 7/5 Trochee)

Poetry Paradise

Hey everyone! Today’s form is the 7/5 Trochee, which consists of two or more quatrains, each with a syllable breakdown of 7/5/7/5 syllables per line, and a rhyme scheme of either abab or abcb. The meter is ‘Trochee’, which means alternating stressed and unstressed beats in each line, with each line beginning and ending in a stressed syllable. The 7/5 Trochee is a simple lyrical type little poem, so rhymes will be basic, nothing fancy. Hope you enjoy reading!

Why are exams so despised,
Loathsomely abhorred?
They are blessings in disguise…
They should be adored.

Tests and homework ain’t all bad,
Trust me on this one;
Rather, they leave me quite glad…
Pleasure when I’m done.
