Film Series: NAGB presents “Poetics of the Undercommons”

NAGB-We-Suffer-to-Remain-Film-2The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) and LUX Scotland, in partnership with the British Council, invite you to Poetics of the Undercommons, the second installment of their film series, on June 14, at 8:00pm at Fiona’s Theatre, Nassau, Bahamas.

Drawing inspiration from “We Suffer to Remain,” this second screening will showcase four experimental films, including Ayo Akingbade’s Tower XYZ, Ephraim Asili’s FluidFrontiers, Louis Henderson’s The Sea is History, and Helen Cammock’s There’s a Hole in the Sky. Poetics of the Undercommons explores spoken word, poetry and lyrical prose as sites of resistance and liberation, framing the way the voice can embody a space of both individual and collective agency.
